Prayer Walking - Faithful to the Call

Mari and I, have been faithful to the burden God has placed on our hearts to prayer walk a different community every Friday. This week we did not walk, we parked the van on 8th Street (a main business area in our city,) and prayed right were we could see all the traffic. We may not have walked, but we still journeyed to another location to pray. One of the main topics that was upon our hearts was in the area of breaking strongholds in the life's of our loved ones. It seems life is not easy for either of us, but through it all, we both have joy that only comes from God's heart. Sounds like James words..."Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when ever you face trials of many kinds..." We Have a Great God

If you cannot believe, love from the bottom of your heart and don’t have so many questions about your faith. Just give your love to everyone! Most people are unable to express themselves about formal faith; but everyone understands what love is. Let love surge up in your heart and you will be one with God. If you are looking for a way forward, if you belong to those who strive for the kingdom of God, for a new heaven and a new earth, then love! God loves the world. Answered Prayer

My husband and I help out a young single mom and her little girl Haley, who is two years old. We have known Haley and her mom, since she was six month's old. Haley is a joy to have around, to be able to spoil, to play with, and to love. Murray and I have become her REAL LIFE GUARDIAN ANGELS! Weekly I write down items I need, my to do list, and prayer request, and daily I lift them to God for His provision, and guidance. I was thinking of Haley and how nice it would be to buy a kitchen center for her, I added this to my weekly need list. Money, however is limit right now, so I prayed. I told no one about Haley having very little for toys, or my desire that she would have a kitchen play center. Last night when I arrived home from work, a neighbor had dropped off a few toy items for Haley that her girls had grown out of. Sitting in my living room was a new to me and now Haley, Fisher Price Kitchen center. This may seem like a coincidence, but the thing is, I told no one exc

Something New from Japan

Every Monday I help my friend Glenna, organize prayer requests she recieves from missionaries, the prayer list is called "Friends in Foreign Places." Yesterday, one of the prayer request came with insights on how to pray for people around us. Victor, Jodi, Elisa and Abby Morrison are missionaries in Japan. Walking Tips

Okay this is way too funny...maybe the next thing I try will be prayer skiwalking check it out! On a more serious side, since snow is starting to cover Canada, I thought tips on walking in winter would be a good idea. Adapted tips from Peterborough moves . Winter Walking Tips 1. Plan ahead and give yourself lots of time to get where you are going, don’t rush. ( I need to learn this one!) Walking with God does not have to be done in a hurry. 2. Proceed with caution when walking across a street when cars are hidden from view by snow banks. Watch out for cars that can’t stop at intersections because of ice. 3. Be careful not to slip, if you do and are falling backward, bend your head and back forward as not to hit your head on the pavement. 4. Slippery areas can be tricky, take small steps, and be prepared to fall and roll. 5. Whatever you do don’t take short cuts unless you want to get bogged down by snow! Stay on designated paths or walk on grassy patches if the walkway is icy. 6. Ha

a funny thing!

I fell asleep during Wednesday night prayer! I heard everyone praying, but my mind was resting in thoughts of heaven, and my mouth would not and could not utter a word. This reminds me of quote I read once, that it is better to fall asleep on the breast of Christ then not to have gone there at all. I actually felt warm, loved, and content... Too Funny! One more thought: Snow has finally come to Saskatchewan, and I am going to be committed to prayer walking all winter, especially with Mari. It was lovely outside tonight, the snow was lightly falling, and the light from the street lights reflected off the snow bringing a glow to the darkness. Even in the black of night the presence of God was all around. I think prayer walking is becoming a habit I like!

Extravagant Love

"Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn't love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that." (The Message) Ephesians 5:2 Suddenly, I awoke from a sound sleep with the profound urgent sense to get on my knees and pray concerning a loved one. What came to me was, "Robin, you need to love, and extravagantly as I love you. Pour it out from your very soul." Oh, sure sounds easy, but in this situation it will take more then just doing, or trying, it will only happen as I walk close with Jesus, leaning on him every step of the way. And only by the power of the Holy Spirit will I be able to pour it out from my soul upon another. Give Thanks

Psalm 100:1-3 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. Prayer Walking

Prayer walking in Saskatchewan during the winter month's is going to need a special touch from the Holy Spirit, concerning being disciplined. Motivation is going to be a must. Thank goodness I have a partner to join me every Friday. I will have accountability. Here I am grumbling about winter and it has been a mild winter so far. Thanksgiving should be the heart thought not complaining. Oh well, looking ahead to the month's ahead, I am sure, challenging days will come. My prayer walk partner did mention you can buy straps for your runners that have little spikes in the bottom to be able to walk on ice. I have been looking for them but to no avail. I am sure one day I will find them. Father thank you for grace and Your provisions even when it concerns going out in bitter weather. Grant to Mari and I the motivation and discipline to stay on course with the vision you have given us over the winter month's. Keep us from stumbling or harm. Fill us with Your power and

New Turn

Over the last ten month's prayer walking has been a main focus, and it still remains a main theme in my life. My friend Mari and I have committed to walking each community in our city claiming God's word and asking God to call forth others to birth small prayer groups to cover the communities in prayer. Walking with Yeshua was started to log my journey as a prayer walker. My desire is to continue using this log to journal this journey and to use it to motivate others. A few weeks ago, Mari and I did a Jericho walk around Walter Murray, a local high school. It was the most amazing prayer adventure to date. Praise and worship filled most of the time, but spiritual warfare for the souls of these teens was heavy upon our spirits. I love to hear your journey in prayer please leave comments.
