This made me cry! When we are down we need to get back up, no matter how we do it. We need to remember God is with us and will give us the creativity and strength to finish well.
shared stories connect us in remarkable ways - if they are not told to others they fester and die without creating new life in others - i've seen this video before; yet, it still stirs emotion within my heart!
I have watched the video four times, I feel like I am on face trying to get up, and this gave me hope I will find away...perhaps I need to use my head too!
You have a disciplined life, it shows forth in your comments and has inspired me to consider how I spend my time.
What a loving smile on the first man's face and what a shock when I saw he had no legs and arms. Beautiful person. Thanks for following me. I shall come back.
GutsyWriter, One thought that has been haunting me all week is how do we treat the nobodies in our culture. If only we could look past the physical appearances and see the soul.
Also, if this man has learned to get up when his face was completely in the ground, this was an encouragement for me. I enjoyed your blog, it was fun with a warm sense of humor and love.
Jody, I knew you would visit! You have a great blog with lots of material I need to read. I might never write a published book, but I believe God will use me to touch others to encourage them on their journey.
I look forward to getting to know you both. It is fun to read the hearts thoughts from others journey.
I've seen the video a few times myself and it touches me every single time. The very first time I saw it and then saw that he was without limbs, I was awe-stricken in my heart. He has such a warm, friendly smile, so personable and handsome yet despite his disabilities, goes on teaching and touching the lives and the hearts of so many others. Now that's the kind of person I want to be!
I really do not have time to write on my blog today, but writing is important and so is the blogging community in which I belong. Over the last few month’s I have been slowly going through Henri Nouwen’s book, Home Tonight , this book is a guide to finding our spiritual home in Christ. In the third chapter, a quote from Oriah’s book, The Invitation , inspired me to write. Her genre or label is under spiritual teachings, which could mean anything that goes (new age), but from a Christian view point her poem touched my heart and has lead me into deep reflection of what I ache for in my life. It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing. Oriah I have the same convictions in my daily life when I am around people. I long to hear what they are passionate about, what they long for in their life, and what core ache goes unmet. When I am visiting my friends who are retired the topic of what they
Blogger is losing my words today! It is good to be back into routine, however it was good to get away from the daily demands. I am posting a few points from the sermon I will be giving tomorrow night at a seniors service in my community. The title of my sermon is "Thanksgiving and Prayer"--It is Thanksgiving on Monday here in Canada. Philippians 1:3-5 Point One: Paul viewed the past with a thankful heart to God. In this passage, Paul demonstrates how to view the past by having a thankful heart towards God for all that he has been given. He was able to be content because when he looked at the past he did so with a thankful heart. He recognized that in Christ he was able to do all things and the key was to be thankful for God’s direction and the encouragement he received from other believers. Philippians 1:6-8 Point Two: Paul viewed the present with confidence in what God is doing. As Paul remembers and thinks about the Christians in Philippi, he was flooded with emotio
1. vs 6 "I will not be afraid." 2. vs 7 "I will look in triumph on my enemies." 3. vs 17 "I will not die but live." 4. vs 17 "I will proclaim what the Lord has done." 5. vs 19 "I will enter and give thanks to the Lord." 6. vs 21 "I will give Him thanks." When a spiritual battle is raging around us, we need to remember who is with us. We need to keep our eyes focused on Christ. God is always with us, he is our helper when conflict and spiritual warfare is upon us. When we are steadfast in our faith, and focused completely on Jesus we will be able to say as the Psalmist has written, "I will..." In the name of the Lord, we will have victory over our enemies in this world, as we remember to say "I will..." With Love Robin Be sure to check out the inspirational writings at Spiritual Sundays . Thanks to Ginger and Charlotte for hosting this site and encouraging us today to seek the Lord.

My heart is filled with gratitude for the limbs I take for granted.
