This is Not my Home



This video touches the very depths of my soul, it is profoundly present in my everyday experiences as I minister among the elderly and sick. It breaks my heart to visit with many who no longer live in their own homes and who have given up what was once held dear. My prayer is through their pain and loss they will come to know Christ.

Jesus is our hope and this world is not our home.

"Be still and know I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10

God is good.

I really do not have time to write on my blog today, but writing is important and so is the blogging community in which I belong. Over the last few month’s I have been slowly going through Henri Nouwen’s book, Home Tonight , this book is a guide to finding our spiritual home in Christ. In the third chapter, a quote from Oriah’s book, The Invitation , inspired me to write. Her genre or label is under spiritual teachings, which could mean anything that goes (new age), but from a Christian view point her poem touched my heart and has lead me into deep reflection of what I ache for in my life. Thoughts from Philippians 1:3-11

Blogger is losing my words today! It is good to be back into routine, however it was good to get away from the daily demands. I am posting a few points from the sermon I will be giving tomorrow night at a seniors service in my community. The title of my sermon is "Thanksgiving and Prayer"--It is Thanksgiving on Monday here in Canada. Philippians 1:3-5 Point One: Paul viewed the past with a thankful heart to God. In this passage, Paul demonstrates how to view the past by having a thankful heart towards God for all that he has been given. He was able to be content because when he looked at the past he did so with a thankful heart. He recognized that in Christ he was able to do all things and the key was to be thankful for God’s direction and the encouragement he received from other believers. Transforming Hearts

Yesterday (June 29) at 9:21 p.m. I became a grandmother to a little chap (6lbs-12oz) who's name is Damian Edward. Life is such a wonderful and amazing gift. Mom and baby had a hard time through delivery, and now my son is recovering from stress, and mom and baby are fine. My assignment from God as grandma to Damian, is found in Psalm 78:4. "Telling to the generation to come the praises of Lord, and His strength and His wonderful works He has done." Two weeks ago, I started a prayer journal for Damian. Through this process what I have learned is: Interceding on the behalf another lines up my heart with an unconditional love that comes only from Jesus. I found two interesting thoughts for today that moved my heart completely, which I would like to share. The first one made me sob from the depths of my soul (I believe because I am a grandma.)
