Speak to us--Spiritual Sunday

This week the staff at my church gathered for a two-day fall retreat. It was rejuvenating for my soul and the worship was wonderful. It is amazing when we seek God’s presence together through prayer and song. Our worship pastor open the worship time with a new song, Speak to us, it was beautiful.

I would like to share the lyrics with you for this Spiritual Sunday post. I am sorry that I could not find the song on-line to share the audio with you. The words written speak cries of the heart for each of us identify with. Following the worship song, are a few thoughts from Scripture on hearing from God.

Speak to us

What do you want from our lives? We need to know
O Lord, speak to us
Where would you want us to go for your glory?
O Lord, speak to us

For the lost and lonely people we meet each day
O Lord, speak to us
Give us the words to say, and help us listen
O Lord, speak to us

We hear the sounds of a thousands voices
The world calling our name
Remind us that you came to redeem us
O Lord, speak to us

So when we kneel before you to seek your will
O Lord, speak to us
And make our hearts still—in your presence
O Lord, speak to us

What do you want from our lives? We need to know
O Lord, speak to us
Where would you have us go for your glory?
O Lord, speak to us
O Lord, speak to us

For God does speak—now one way, now another— though man may not perceive it. (Job 33:13)

The Mighty One, God, the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets. (Psalm 50:1)

"Hear, O my people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against you: I am God, your God. (Psalm 50:7)

With Love Robin

Those are wonderful lyrics. We don't need to hear the audio :) Because they are powerful enough to speak to our hearts. Sounds like a wonderful time of fellowship! God bless you sister and have a great weekend! May the Lord speak to us and tell us what He wants in our lives. Glory to God!

Clif received a book in the mail today entitled "Let God Talk to You". He just finished reading another book on the subject. I'm planning to read both of them. This sounds like a really good song. I think God is trying to get our attention that he wants to talk to his children. Thank you for sharing this.
Blessings,
Charlotte
My wife, Charlotte, just said what I have on my mind. I will not repeat what she wrote but I will just add that this is a great post on a timely and needed topic. I love the song playing right now. Thanks for posting.

Those are powerful words for us, and are needed so much in the world today. I do believe that God is speaking to us in these last days, and He will call many to Himself...that is my prayer. I can't always go to church, but the music that you chose to play takes me to a place of worship, even here at the computer...Lord, come fill up my life with the light of Your presence.....thanks for sharing this today. Speaking and listening have been the thread of thought on my blog lately

A good quote I found was
"For every person who says "Speak Lord for thy servant heareth" there are ten who say "Listen Lord for your servant speaketh" !

The lyrics are beautiful...yes God speak to us! But we need to still ourselves often enough and long enough to hear Him.
Robin,

A joy to hear of this time of respite for the staff at your church. What a blessed congregation you serve -- blessed to have a staff that steps away from a time to be refreshed in His presence.

Love the message in those lyrics.
