Northern Saskatchewan--Christopher Lake in April

My husband and I went to a marriage retreat at the Quest Camp at Christopher Lake in Northern Saskatchewan this past weekend. The lake was still covered with ice. It was wonderful to go on a hike through the forest with my husband enjoying the outdoors after the long Prairie winter.

Walking in the forest was amazing and healing for my soul. After 27 years of being married this was the first time we have been on a retreat geared towards our marriage. I found it very relaxing and a great time to reconnect with my best friend.

I was viewing several blogs from the southern States tonight and spring has truly blossomed there. Here spring is just beginning.

A great Quote from the Wizard of Oz: "A vacation is what you take when you can't take what you have been taking any longer!"

I'll bet this was great retreat! Just the beautiful country would be enough to refresh your soul and reinvigorate a marriage. We find that when we visit the mountains in Wyoming. My wife and I have been married 27 years this year, too. So you know, I linked over from the "Glass House" blog.

Thanks for visiting and following Family Fountain! I'll be followings yours, too. You have a lot of good articles. I'll have to read later ... I have a final exam at 1 pm. on Proverbs and Eccl. for a grad class I'm taking. Pray!

Warren it seems like we have several things in common. We have both been married for 27 years, we are almost the same ages, we are both ministers, both taking classes (I will pray for you please pray for me too!) And we love Jesus with all of our hearts, mind, and soul.

I have been struggling to finish my classes, I have three to finish before my graduation.

I am praying.

Robin,

The pictures are beautiful. Since we no longer have any snow, it was refreshing to see the water still iced over. It gave me a feeling of breathing in that nice, crisp air.

I hope you had a great time at the marriage retreat and a great walk and time with your hubby. That's always a good thing.

Love you,
Alleluiabelle

Robin,

Congratulations on 27 years of marriage! I'm thrilled you and your best friend had a relaxing time reconnecting. The lake is beautiful and the path looks so inviting!

Thank you kindly for stopping by my blog and leaving encouraging words. Henry Blackaby told me he knew a woman with my same name in his church in Canada.

Blessings to you Robin.

Lora thanks for stopping by! I love your pictures. It was wonderful up north, and getting away with Murray all alone was what we needed. He is extroverted and loves people, I am interverted and loved the solitude.

Robin,
What degree or program are you working on? What classes do you have left?
Robin said…
Warren, I am part of a church based program from Carey Theological College in Vancouver. I currently enrolled in the diploma course with hope of continuing on into my Masters of Pastoral Ministry. You can check out the college website: http://www.careycentre.com/

The classes left are: I am finishing up the Life of Christ, I start Pastoral Ethics May 1, and Church History in October then I graduate! I have been working on this since January 06.

I am currently on staff at my church as a director for Seniors Ministry. It has been a long journey, and I believe God will use what he has given to me to reach others with the good news of Christ.

What are you working on?

Warren, I need to work through the pastoral epistles before Friday, tonight is going to be a long night.

Please pray.
