Old Eyes

My day was full of listening to life stories, all vastly different from one another, yet in a strange way very similar. I wrote a poem to share the thoughts I had on what I experienced. The eyes are a door way into a very hidden and mysterious place within the soul.

Old Eyes

To look deep
within old eyes
is to see a reflection
of humanity
that contains stories
from a life lived
in past and present.

Some have gone
deep into caverns

hidden by a human shell
only to reveal shadows
from a backdrop
of once a strong soul.

To listen closely
to tales from memory
looking deep into old eyes

is a glimpse back into self.

Wow Robin. This is beautiful! Meandered over from Facebook after seeing your status. I'll add you to my reader so I can keep up with you here. I have to admit I find N.T. Wright anything but dull... he gets all of the hair on my neck standing on end, LOL! (I'm anon in blog land, but you'll know me as you're old neighbour and church sister *wink*)

Hi Prairie Chick glad to have you come on over and visit! I will need to visit you this year it is time...actually W.T. Wright does the same to me...gets me thinking deeply.

You have inspired me to start taking more pictures. I would love to live where you live...out of the city and out on the Prairies.

Oh, my goodness! This makes me miss my grandfather. He lived to be 100, but has been gone now for almost 10 years.

This is beautiful, Robin.

thanks for stopping by and entering my bloggy giveaway. I wish I could have given everyone a copy of Stone Crossings, I enjoyed it so much.

Blessings on you, friend.
