PrayerWalk Journal
My walk today was very pleasant and a comfort to my soul. The air was warm yet cool for the early morning. For some reason either I have never noticed before, or there are more robins here then ever before. This spring every time I go for a walk a robin or two has come to greet me. I really enjoy meeting the robins along my prayer walk journey.
Reading the newspaper before heading out on my morning prayer walk gave me much to pray about and meditate on. A few are very scary and very, very, real. I can do one of three things, forget I read them and ignore it, think it won't effect me, or pray, the choice is mine. I mentioned a few of these to one of my teenagers and she thanked me for bringing to mind things that are overwhelming. Oh, a world that has gone mad.
Here are the front page prayer concerns:
1. The next flu pandemic, (I learned a new word! Pandemic - epidemic or a large region). This headline sparked a prayer for the world. My prayer was that God would have mercy on a world that has gone mad, and turn many hearts back to Him. That he would pour out a spirit of Grace and supplication upon all nations. This headline made me think of God sending a one of His plagues to wake people up! God have mercy on this world.
2. How to spot a drug user, (The Meth Threat). Oh, how our world is messed up. Prayers for our young people flooded my heart. What a crazy place to try in grow up in when dangers are all around. Having two young adults and two teens myself, my mama's heart aches and calls out to God for protection over my children. The women who they showed a picture of was only a few years younger then I am. I must pray for all people to wake up and seek God, not drugs or other flesh stimulating things. The scary thing is not one of us is safe from craving things other then God.
3. River level to peak Wednesday - My prayer is that as the river has gone from a flow of 125 cubic metres per second to about 600 over the last week, that God's spirit would also pour forth with great power over a world that is dying. Cleanse the hearts of Your people Lord and help us to pray.
There where many more concerns on my heart today as I headed out with my personal trainer (Jesus), He heard them all.
A Hymn from today: There's just something about that name!
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus; There's just something about that name!
Master, Savior, Jesus, Like the fragrance after the rain;
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Let all heaven and earth proclaim:
Kings and kingdoms will all pass away, But there's something about that name!
William J. Gaither, 1936 -
God...gave Him the name that is above every name -- Philippians 2:9
A thought I used repeatedly today was, "A world gone mad", since I was using google a lot, I thought I would see what google would say to my word thought. Check out my web find.
