Prayer

Time this week seems to have gone by way to fast, with Sasha having baby David, to adopted family taking him home, birth dad still wanting baby, to painting my husbands new office, and now packing to camp out at the hospital once again, I am tried just reviewing my list.

Praise You Lord for hearing our prayers, for being with Sasha every step of the way. Thank you that you are with Tamara surrounding her and guiding the surgeon's hands. Praise You Father for all that you have done for us through the blood of Christ, and thank you for strength to carry on. Amen.

My daughter is having reconstructive knee surgery tomorrow, we have waited almost a year for this operation. Last year she dislocated her knee, (this really is a painful thing to do), every day brings much pain for my young teen. Please pray for my daughter and our family as we go through another few days up at the hospital. My daughter is nervous, but she knows it could bring healing. I am tried, it is late, and 5:00 a.m. will come fast. Thank you for your prayers.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:2,3

I really do not have time to write on my blog today, but writing is important and so is the blogging community in which I belong. Over the last few month’s I have been slowly going through Henri Nouwen’s book, Home Tonight , this book is a guide to finding our spiritual home in Christ. In the third chapter, a quote from Oriah’s book, The Invitation , inspired me to write. Her genre or label is under spiritual teachings, which could mean anything that goes (new age), but from a Christian view point her poem touched my heart and has lead me into deep reflection of what I ache for in my life. Thoughts from Philippians 1:3-11

Blogger is losing my words today! It is good to be back into routine, however it was good to get away from the daily demands. I am posting a few points from the sermon I will be giving tomorrow night at a seniors service in my community. The title of my sermon is "Thanksgiving and Prayer"--It is Thanksgiving on Monday here in Canada. Philippians 1:3-5 Point One: Paul viewed the past with a thankful heart to God. In this passage, Paul demonstrates how to view the past by having a thankful heart towards God for all that he has been given. He was able to be content because when he looked at the past he did so with a thankful heart. He recognized that in Christ he was able to do all things and the key was to be thankful for God’s direction and the encouragement he received from other believers. Yesterday I was browsing through health websites when I found myself on the Canadian Johnson and Johnson web page. They were asking a question which I found intriguing so I answered it. Following is the question and my response: How do you keep from blowing your top and damaging relationships? I believe through daily spiritual rhythms and practices I have set the foundation and safe guard towards not blowing my top and leaving behind me damaged relationships. The first step, is to take time to be alone with God, asking him to guide and direct me through out the day. My love relationship with him is vital in maintaining my cool in the heat of conflict. Knowing how much he loves me makes a difference in how I respond to others. Second, is to let the Bible (his word), change my heart by not demanding my own way, but taking time to listen well, hold my tongue, and stop anger immediately through praying breathe prayers.
