What a morning this day ushered in, and now it is the afternoon, and the first thunderstorm of the year is creating amazing sounds outside!  The rain will hopefully wash away some of the dirt left from winter’s long white covering.  New life is welcomed. I must say, it will be good to see green cover the stark nakedness of the trees in my yard once again.  Rain…it does sound and smell inviting today.  I have been rather reluctant to write on my blog these days.  I have been asking myself numerous questions:  Why do I write?  Who do I write for?  Is there some deep ego driven reason why I need to write and post on a blog?  My conclusion to the questions is I simply like to write.  I enjoy the whole process.  No more fear. Belonging to a community of people--it seems over the years some disappear and no one knows where they went to or why they left.  Days, weeks, and months will go by without anyone asking how they are or how their souls are being nurtured.  It seems no one cares. Maybe I do not care enough? This is totally against what Jesus taught when he said, “Love your neighbour.”  Who is your neighbour if you do not even miss them when they are gone? I have been wrestling with the whole concept of loving one another and how is loving one another really suppose to look like in the context of church community.  How do we reach out when someone has left for a long period of time? Or reach out to those who are hurting? Or those who are lonely? Over a year ago, with timidity and indecisiveness, facebook became part of my life. During this time what has fascinated me is how I have linked up with a younger generation. Several on my friend list are not Christ followers, and they are from another generation, which is awesome. Facebook has given me an opportunity to pray for each of them, and experience a few aspects of their daily life. Without my facebook connections I would not be in contact with them. On one friends page was posted this youtube video titled, "Sasquatch music festival 2009 - Guy starts dance party." I am posting this to my blog with hesitation, but it is interesting to watch with the eyes of faith. One guy starts dancing, and within three minutes the whole festival turned into a dance feast. The song lyrics as I could understand them go something like this: “I have a faith unstoppable, I have faith unstoppable.” This video has me wondering if there something wrong with this whole pictur...

I have been praying today about a mountain in my life I am having difficultly climbing, I feel like my knees and ankles are giving out, and I am considering letting go. I have been praying all morning asking God to give direction on whether I should push in with stress and continue to climb, or let go. My mind and feelings at the moment want to take the easy way by releasing the mountain. Have you ever climbed a mountain? If you do not have a firm commitment, strong knees, ankles, and arms you will not make it to the top! I have experienced it personally and you never forget the climb, even if you don't make it to the summit. As usual right after I prayed, and spoke my concern to my husband and close friends a revelation entered my life. I opened an email from my aunt with a link to a web page titled Enjoy the Ride . Each of us have mountains we need to climb, we must never give up no matter what age we are or the circumstance. Stand firm in Christ and we will make it! Remember no matter how hard the climb is we must embrace it, and continue to push in keeping the faith. The Apostle Paul told Timothy: "Timothy, my son, I give you this instruction in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by following them you may fight the good fight, holding on to faith, and a good conscience." 1 Timothy 1: 18-19 My prayer for all who are struggling today with a mountain is that you will not give up, you will push in, and fight the good fight of faith, standing firm in Christ staying on the narrow way right until the end. Thursday afternoons are one of my preferred times during my hectic week to enter into holy ground, while listening to life stories. I truly enjoy volunteering as a spiritual care Chaplin at a local hospital. Each week I come home with a story that touches my heart and makes my Christian journey a fulfilling adventure into God’s world. Today my son borrowed my car, which meant my husband drove me to the hospital, and would pick me up after we were both finished work. His work kept him over-time, which then meant I needed to take a taxi home. I have not taken a taxi in years and was really having a hard time justifying spending $20.00 on the fare. It was not my preference to phone the cab company, but waiting for another hour was not my desire either. Through silver clouds his dream transcends all understanding an illusion or real, can it be now. In pain his dream touches deep within comforting broken places with love divine.
