With Eyes of Faith (Please Read Post First)

Over a year ago, with timidity and indecisiveness, facebook became part of my life. During this time what has fascinated me is how I have linked up with a younger generation. Several on my friend list are not Christ followers, and they are from another generation, which is awesome. Facebook has given me an opportunity to pray for each of them, and experience a few aspects of their daily life. Without my facebook connections I would not be in contact with them.

On one friends page was posted this youtube video titled, "Sasquatch music festival 2009 - Guy starts dance party." I am posting this to my blog with hesitation, but it is interesting to watch with the eyes of faith.

One guy starts dancing, and within three minutes the whole festival turned into a dance feast. The song lyrics as I could understand them go something like this: “I have a faith unstoppable, I have faith unstoppable.” This video has me wondering if there something wrong with this whole picture?

If one very strange guy can get up at a music festival, be completely goofy and out of place then start a dance revival within three minutes, why couldn’t we as believers do the same thing and what would that look like?

"After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly." Acts 4:31

To be bold in Christ living out our faith, being filled with the Holy Spirit, how unstoppable could we be?

Questions I asked myself: Am I willing to be goofy and out of place to start of Holy Spirit revival? Am I willing to step out of my comfort zone to touch others in their journey, even if it is in places like face book, sports, etc...?

Love to you all,

P.S I wish I could say this was a Christian concert!

Global Day of Prayer Incentives

On May 18th, I posted a youtube announcement for the Global Day of Prayer on May 31, 2009. I did not take the time to see if there was a link for prayer incentives to lead a group.

Yipeng from Mark by Faith posted a link for prayer guides and audio prayers for the next 10 days. If you are interested it is never to late to start. He is posting the daily prayer on his blog, it can also be found through this link:

Global Day of Prayer Incentives for the next 10 days.
Script and Audio Prayers: Many people will not be able to physically attend the 10 Day Prayer gatherings or the Global Day of Prayer event. In order to include these people, we have incorporated audio recordings and the accompanying scripts of prayers for each of the 10 Days, the Prayer for the World as well as a Radio Advertisement to be used in Radio broadcasts, hospitals, prisons etc.

I am going to use the daily prayer guide during my own prayer time, since I do not have contact with a local prayer group focused on this day. Sunday May 24, is day 4 in the 10 day incentive before May 31.

Thanks yipeng for the link...if you have not visited Mark by Faith it is a site worth visiting.

I am going encourage/challenge a few senior's I know to have a Global day of prayer in their seniors retirement home.

Day 1:

Thursday 21 May 2009. REVIVE!

Our Father who is in heaven…

Father God, You are the creator and father of all nations. You sustain us by the power of your word. We acknowledge that You alone are worthy to receive all praise and honour and glory.

As Christians from around the world, we enter into your presence through the new and living way that Jesus Christ opened for us by his blood, to kneel at the throne of grace. We pray that you will revive the Church again through your Holy Spirit. Answer the prayer of Jesus that we, as Church, will unite and stand as one family before You. We pray for those believers who had fallen away that You will draw them back to You and bring them to repentance.

You are faithful and true to your promises. Please reveal to us your loving, compassionate and merciful father’s heart. Help us to obey your commandments and to trust You completely for our salvation, our sanctification and our daily walk. Touch the hearts of millions of believers around the world to persist in prayer until we see the fulfilment of all your promises.

Release fresh movements of prayer in every nation of the world so that this generation may accomplish the purposes You have for each one of us.

Here am I, Lord, send me.

In Christ Name. Amen.

Global Day of Prayer 2009--Sunday May 31.

Isaiah 56:7 "For My house will be called a house of prayer for ALL nations."

I remember when an intercessor friend of mine went to South Africa, in 2001 for the first Global Day of prayer. How exciting it is to know God's people are still responding to His global call to pray as one body, eight years later.

Greater things are yet to come!

Our Companion Stress

I have been praying today about a mountain in my life I am having difficultly climbing, I feel like my knees and ankles are giving out, and I am considering letting go. I have been praying all morning asking God to give direction on whether I should push in with stress and continue to climb, or let go. My mind and feelings at the moment want to take the easy way by releasing the mountain.

Have you ever climbed a mountain? If you do not have a firm commitment, strong knees, ankles, and arms you will not make it to the top! I have experienced it personally and you never forget the climb, even if you don't make it to the summit.

As usual right after I prayed, and spoke my concern to my husband and close friends a revelation entered my life. I opened an email from my aunt with a link to a web page titled Enjoy the Ride. If you have a moment it is worth taking a few minutes to view. I am still on the theme the Climb, by the way, Miley's video is amazing and the words go deep into the heart, I have watched it at least 30 times.

What stood out for me from Enjoy the Ride was: "Remember you are blessed to be stressed." A few month's ago, I visited a man in his early 70's who was dying with cancer.

As we shared our stories, he asked me how I was doing in my life. I shared with him how there were issues in my life that were causing stress. His reply startled me. He looked at me and with a soft voice said, "Robin, I wish I had the strength and blessing to get stressed." I was speechless after his reply, and left his room with a deep thought to mediate upon. He has since passed away, but today I was reminded of his startling words.

I am blessed! I am still alive and still have strength to hold on. I need to keep pushing in even if stress is my companion on the climb. I will make it, if I don't and fall off the cliff, well at least I tried! Life is about embracing the story before us, loving others and self well, and keeping our faith in Christ.

What mountain are you facing today that would be nice to let go of, but in your heart you know you need to continue pushing forward?

How do you view stress at this moment in your life? Is stress a companion to push you forward as a blessing, or an enemy who is stopping you from pushing in and growing?

I went back and watched the video, Enjoy the Ride again, and what the quote actually said was: "Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed." Yes we are, but stress still comes and we need to have a good perspective on whether it is a companion or foe.

Tim Challies had a great comment concerning his journey with memorization: "The great joy I've found in memorization is not in the future but in the present--in the actual moment of memorizing. As great as it is to be able to bring Scripture to mind at a future date, even better is having the structure around which I pause often to meditate on a new passage, repeating it over and over, looking for its meaning, looking for its nuances."

Our journey in life is like this, we need to take time pause and ask God what is He doing and where is He leading...

Love to all,

P.S The picture is of mountains near Mount Robson just after Jasper in the Canadian Rockies.

Miley Cyrus - The Climb - Official Music Video (HQ)

Each of us have mountains we need to climb, we must never give up no matter what age we are or the circumstance. Stand firm in Christ and we will make it! Remember no matter how hard the climb is we must embrace it, and continue to push in keeping the faith.

The Apostle Paul told Timothy: "Timothy, my son, I give you this instruction in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by following them you may fight the good fight, holding on to faith, and a good conscience."
1 Timothy 1: 18-19

My prayer for all who are struggling today with a mountain is that you will not give up, you will push in, and fight the good fight of faith, standing firm in Christ staying on the narrow way right until the end.

Keeping the faith!

Love to all,

P.S. I just might go to a Hanna Montana movie!

I am not sure what I was doing and the picture is rather unclear (it is from my daughters camera). However, I like it because it shows how it was raining, and the garden is still beautiful.

I love this picture too! I felt like I was dancing in the rain through the tulips.

"He will be like rain falling on a mown field, like showers watering the earth." (Psalm 72:6 NIV)

It is a funny thing, I have nothing to add to this post so it will remain as is.

Love to all.

“Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him… Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’” (Isaiah 30:18, 21)

I have numerous stories to share from the last three weeks, my problem is I do not know where to begin. With this dilemma, I have decided to share my favorite picture taken at the Butchart Gardens in Victoria, B.C. Canada, to start the process.

It is good to be back home the only problem is I came back to lots of work. It is overwhelming to start back into routine, it was great to be free for a few weeks. My goal over the next several weeks is to share parts of the journey that refreshed my soul. I look forward to being part of the blogging community once again. The trip to B.C. was the start of a new beginning in many ways. God is always gracious with second chances.

The Butchart Gardens were amazingly beautiful even in the pouring rain.

Jesus thank you for how you restore our soul even when it is raining in our life. The sun always seems to find away to shine through even on dull rainy days, creating beauty for those who have eyes to see. Thank you for the love that is always being poured out upon our life. In your name I pray. Amen.

Love to all,

P.S My new camera works great!

In 2 Words

Someone on twitter was asked to describe themselves in two words, what a great idea.

So off the cuff here is how I would describe myself in two words: simple, loving.

How would you describe yourself in 2 words?

I am off to my class in Regina until Saturday night, then my family is off to Victoria B.C until May the 12. I am not sure if I will have time to post before we leave, if you don't hear from me for the next two weeks you know why!

I have a goal not to blog until I arrive home. I hope to have some great pictures and stories to share.

Love to all...
