Adoramus Te

Murray downloaded some new music for me, I asked for instrumental or classical. I have a new favorite, Adormamus Te by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (1526 - 1594). Then I found words by Saint Francis, who acually wrote them before the music. Not sure how the two go together or if they even do? What I have gathered is both St. Francis and Patestrina had hearts to worship God. Shortly before his death in October of 1226, St. Francis wrote his Testament which contained his last thoughts concerning the order he founded. In it he urged his followers to remain faithful to the rules of the order and the prayer below is taken from this work. Wondrous Cross

Thoughts from when I survey the Wondrous Cross. Where such love and sorrow meet. Pour content on all my pride. Love so amazing so divine. Love demands my soul… Love demands my soul… Love demands my soul… My life, my all. Jesus, life is hard, but you show the way daily.  You gave the greatest gift to mankind your life.  Forgive me when pride exalts it’s self.  Forgive me when love does not reign in my life.  Forgive me when I do not seek you first.  Forgive me dear Lord.  Take me I pray to the place where love and sorrow meet.  Jesus thank you for hope today.  Amen.

Seven Prayerwalking Skills - Victor Morrison 1. Conversational Prayer—praying with others. This type of prayer involves learning to make prayer together with a partner a natural flow of intercession. Build upon what was just said. Be brief. Avoid praying long prayers. 2. Responsive Prayer—praying for what you see. As you walk just allow what you see with your eyes and hear with your ears to give you ideas for praying for that home or on that street. 3. Biblical Prayer—praying with God’s Word. Take a scripture guide or a small bible with you when you go, and glance at it from time to time praying various scriptures for the area. 4. Dynamic Prayer—praying with God’s Spirit. As you walk and pray with an open heart toward God, the Spirit of God may occasionally impress a certain burden upon your heart, or place a certain person or scripture into your mind. 5. Prophetic Prayer—praying blessings. This skill is offering up faith declarations
